JBronze Shimmer

Another JBronze product to review, yay! I am loving the work thus far of J-Hawk, and was super keen to try out this instant illuminiser. I love the use of this product on the face, as well as areas like shoulders and collarbones. Before I purchased this, I did not own anything similar, so I was looking forward to see how it would work for me.

On the JBronze website:

Jbronze shimmer is a lightweight instant bronzing cream, with light reflecting particles, illuminating your skin and giving you a radiant, healthy and sun kissed glow.

The addition of natural colouring additive, Caramel, will give you a gorgeous bronzed appearance, instantly, making you feel healthier with brilliant, glowing skin.

This product provides a slight bronze colour that may be more obvious on pale skin tones. My skin is slightly tanned, so this product doesn't add much colour to my skin aside from a faint glow as if I've been at the beach all day. This is perfect for me as I usually apply a deep fake tan anyway, so this shimmer just finishes it off.

All you do is rub a small amount between hands, and add it to wherever you need. Mostly, I've been putting the product on the tops of my shoulders, collarbones, and slightly down my arms. It can also be used on top of the cheekbones, and on the brow bones for some highlighting on the face. The product comes out of the tube as a bronze shimmery cream.

The shimmer is made up of tiny glitter, which is completely non-obvious when looking at the skin. It definitely has a 'shimmer' effect rather than a glittery one. I tried this without wearing fake tan underneath, and it literally makes my skin look as though I've spent the whole day in the sun, it just gives a beautiful glow. The shimmer is probably best to wear at night, but I have worn it during the day and it's not glaringly obvious or over the top.

(top not blended in, bottom blended)

Lasting power is good, I've taken this through the whole day (9 til 9) and it stayed fairly well. The shimmer and colour seem to fade a little, leaving you with mostly glitter but it still is not terribly obvious, you won't look like Ke$ha! It's hard to capture in photos, but in the above image I have blended the product and you can't see much!

In terms of transfer, it leaves little to none on my clothes. When applying, try to avoid clothing as that will stain, but once the product is dry on the skin you might end up with a little glitter on your clothes but that's about it.

Overall, this is a product that has achieved everything it set out to achieve. It certainly leaves my skin looking sun kissed, and I love how the shimmer is not over the top, but a more natural and healthy finish. This product retails for $24.95 but you can find it at Chemist Warehouse for a little less, and also at Priceline often on sale. I find the price to be a little steep, and would probably only re-purchase when I have the spare cash lying around. That said, the bottle is a decent size and I think this will go a long way as I don't use much at one time!

  1. Great review :-) I was wondering what her products would be like and have been waiting to read some reviews before parting with the cash as they are not exactly cheap. Thanks for being so thorough <3

    1. Thanks Billi! Yeah, the prices are relatively high. I feel it's unjustified to hike the prices up like that, but I guess the products do have beautiful ingredients, and they do live up to their claims. Chemist Warehouse sell the Jbronze products for just under RRP so that might be a good place to start! :) x
