BRUSH CLEANSING BECOMES FUN

If you have checked in to B&B regularly, you would have seen that I religiously use baby shampoo to clean my brushes. This is a boring task, but a super important one! Your brushes end up with so much makeup all over them, and can become a real breeding ground for bacteria and other nasty bits. By cleaning your brushes regularly, you are ensuring that none of these nasties end up on your face, causing breakouts and other skin issues. If I have time I try for weekly cleaning, but realistically it usually stretches out to cleaning each fortnight. I recently discovered  a brush detergent from Daiso - a Japanese store with super discount prices. These are popping up all over Melbourne, and they are so fun to browse through!

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge is the perfect little bottle of magic to clean brushes. It lathers up a bit and simply dissolves all the makeup in your brushes. This includes liquid foundation, eyeshadow, pressed powder, blushes and bronzers and also silicone primer. I found immediately that this brush cleaner was going to be far superior to my old baby shampoo - just in the way that the makeup immediately ran from the brushes without any harsh scrubbing. My brushes with white bristles from Sigma were immediately brought back to almost new condition, and my foundation buffing brush cleared completely of leftover foundation.

I have been ultra impressed with this product, and priced at $2.80, I can certainly see myself going back for more. Have you tried the Daiso Puff and Sponge Detergent? Or do you have another 'holy-grail' method of brush cleaning?
